Elcoste bíblico del discipulado<\/a>no tiene que ver con ganarse la salvación, sino con la sumisión. La salvación es un don gratuito de la gracia, pero el discipulado requiere un corazón dispuesto a ceder el control. Implica anteponer a Jesús a nuestras ambiciones, posesiones e incluso relaciones cuando estas se interponen en el camino de la obediencia. El coste de seguir a Jesús no es otro que todo nuestro corazón. Él no busca seguidores a medias, sino a aquellos que estén dispuestos a entregar su vida cada día, sabiendo que lo que renuncien por su causa lo ganarán eternamente.<\/p>

<\/div>

Muchas personas se sienten atraídas por la idea de seguir a Jesús debido a su amor, su paz y su gracia, y con razón. Sin embargo, pocos están preparados para el coste que supone seguir a Jesús, que a menudo incluye el rechazo, el sacrificio y la abnegación. En Mateo 16:24, Jesús afirmó: «Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese a sí mismo, tome su cruz y sígame». Negarnos a nosotros mismos requiere dejar de lado el concepto mundano de éxito. Implica perdonar cuando duele, amar cuando resulta incómodo y optar por la integridad cuando sería preferible transigir. El verdadero discipulado puede costarnos popularidad, seguridad económica o comodidad, pero nos acerca más al amor de Cristo.<\/p>

Calcular el coste antes de comprometerse<\/strong><\/h4>

Jesús nunca obligó a sus seguidores a comprometerse. Fue sincero sobre lo que ello supondría. En Lucas 14:28, comparó el discipulado con la construcción de una torre: hay que calcular el gasto antes de poner los cimientos. Como creyentes, debemos preguntarnos: ¿Estoy dispuesto a sopesar el coste de seguirle, aunque me cueste algo? ¿Estoy dispuesto a confiar en Él, aunque el camino conduzca al dolor o a la pérdida? Calcular el coste nos ayuda a forjar una fe que perdura, en lugar de una que se quiebra cuando llegan las tormentas.<\/p>

Por qué vale la pena el coste<\/strong><\/h4>
<\/div>

Aunque el discipulado requiere sacrificio, los beneficios superan con creces los costes. El gozo de conocer a Cristo, la paz que sobrepasa todo entendimiento y la esperanza eterna del cielo son tesoros que ninguna posesión mundana puede igualar. Cuando entregamos totalmente nuestras vidas a Jesús, descubrimos que el coste de seguirle es, en realidad, libertad: la libertad de vivir sin miedo, sin culpa ni el deseo de la aprobación mundana.<\/p>

Vivir el verdadero discipulado hoy<\/strong><\/h4>
<\/div>

Aceptar el coste bíblico del discipulado significa vivir con una perspectiva eterna. Implica despertarse cada día y decir: «Señor, no se haga mi voluntad, sino la Tuya». Algunos ejemplos son la obediencia silenciosa, el servicio desinteresado a los demás y elegir la fidelidad por encima de la comodidad. El discipulado no tiene que ver con la perfección, sino con la perseverancia. Cada paso de obediencia nos acerca más a la semejanza de Cristo, y es en este camino donde descubrimos el mayor gozo.<\/p>

El precio de seguir a Jesús puede ser alto, pero es el único camino que conduce a la vida. Cuando le entregamos todo a Él, descubrimos que no hemos perdido nada de verdadero valor, y que hemos ganado todo lo que realmente importa.<\/p>
